REGULAR MEETING
ZONING AND PLANNING COMMISSION
NOVEMBER 11, 1975
The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of West University Place convened
in regular .session at the City Hall,. 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 1 1, 1975, with the
following members present:. Chairman .Bartholomew, presiding: Members LaCook,
Norton and Weatherby. Mr. Dahlin was absent.
The Chairman ascertained that proper notice of meeting had been posted on the
bulletin board at the City Hall three (3) days prior to the scheduled meeting as
required by HB3, Amending 625217, V.C.C.
~ Rusty Mosley and Kevin Kellogg, students at Lamar High School and residents of West
University Place, visited the meeting.

Sewanee, was presented to the Commission for consideration.
Motion by Mr. Weatherby, seconded by Mr. LaCook, that application to subdivide
Lot 5, Block 92
West University Place 2nd Addition
3504 Albans
into two lots, one 100 ft. x 100 ft. facing Albans, and one 67 ft. x 100 ft. facing
Sewanee, be accepted for consideration and Public Hearing set for the next regularly
scheduled meeting on Tuesday, December 9, 1975, 7:30 p.m.
During the discussion of the application with Mr. and Mrs. Cole covering key lots,
parking spaces required, back yard requirements, and driveways, it was pointed out
that the existing residence would either have to be moved are partially demolished to
meet the back yard requirements of the Zoning Ordinance (dwelling must be 20 ft.
from rear property line) if the property was subdivided as requested. Mr. Cole
withdrew this application and submitted another application to subdivide
Lot 5, Block 92

into two lots, one 100 ft. x 112.6 ft. facing Albans and one 54.4 ft. x 100 ft. facing
Sewanee.
Mr. Weatherby changed his motion to accept the application to subdivide
Lot 5, Block 92

into two lots, one 100 ft. x 112.6 ft. facing Albans and one 54.4 ft, x 100 ft. facing
Sewanee, and set Public Hearing for the next regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday,
December 9, 1975, 7:30 p.m. Changed motion accepted by Mr. LaCook.
Voting Aye: All Voting No: None
A site plan for construction of clusterhouses at the northeast corner of Buffalo
Speedway and Bellaire Boulevard from Mr. William Perlmutter was presented .for
consideration.
The site plan turns the dwellings around approximately 90 degrees from plan- approved
July 8, 1975 for this location, with two rows of houses, one row facing north and one
row facing south towards Bellaire Boulevard.
After discussion of the proposed plan and comparison with previously approved plan
for this .site, it was the consensus. that the plan should be submitted to the Fire Chief
for his. written opinion of the workability of the plan for firefighting before final
approval is given to the proposal.
Minutes of the regular meeting of the Zoning and Planning Commission on October
14, 1975 were approved as submitted.
The Commission continued its discussion and study of certain, items. as related to the
existing Zoning Ordinance in preparation for a report and recommendations to =the
City. Commission concerning same:
With no further business to come before the Commission at this time, upon motion
duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
