The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of tiVest University Place
convened in special session at the City Hall, 'I'hursday, May 20, 1982
7:30 P.M.~with the following members present: Chairman Casey, presiding;
Members Abell, Allen and Norton.
Zoning and Planning Commission agreed that there is already existing two
lots. One lot being this 100' x 100' of Lot 12 and a second Lot being
E 50' x 100 of Lot 12.

Mr. Norton expressed concern of the two lots if replated as requested
sharing the same driveway. He felt that each lot should have it's own
driveway.
Mr. Allen expressed a desire to have the corner lot remain at 100' x 100'
. for the purpose of open space. He also stated that he did not necessarily
agree that.there are two lots. '~ ~
Mr. Abell stated that he thought~.this might be a good exception to where a
minimum size lot could be enlarged and.therefore does not object to the
replatting.. '
Mr. Norton: Moved to approve the application to replat Lot 12, Block 39
West~University~Place lst, into two lots of 50' x 150' each
with.both.. lots fronting on Westchester, subject to compliance
•- ~ with all building setback requirements, building code or
~ other governing ordiances etc.,

Mr. Norton: I oppose the application on the basis that large lots in the
area and in the city presently exist in very limited numbers, and as
they impact the imminent neighborhood especially in regard to loss of
spaciousness and the related change in character and appearance. It is
~ therefore in thie interest of the city to preserve the few I~arge lots
that remain where it is evident:
Mr. Norten: Moved that the application~to subdivide Lot 6, Block 32, WUP lst
~ be denied. .
Seconded by Mr. Abell
