EMERGENCY MEETING
ZONING & PLANNING COMMISSION

Due to the Subdivision Ordinance still being held in abeyance, the Commission
should in the absencel,of an ordinance, .act on subdivision application under
the prevailing State Statute 4~974A.
The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of West University
convened in emergency session on Tuesday, August 23, 1983 at 7:30
with the following members present: Chairman Kendrick, presiding;
Bettler, Norton and O''~Leary.
Notice of Meeting was ',posted in the City Hall on August 22, 1983,
accordance with StatelStatutes.
It was agreed to submit a letter to the City Council informing them of the
the Commissions' decision to accept applications for subdivision.
The Commission reviewejd and discussed the Proposed Zoning Ordinance with
the following suggestejd changes for consideration by the City Council:
1. Zoning Ordina',nce 46111- Delete Section 24; (1)
However, if tkaenty-five (25%) percent of a block frontage
is improved with building the front yard shall extend to
the alignment', of such existing buildings, but in no case
shall the depth of such front yard be less than twenty
(20') feet.
2. Zoning Ordinance 46111 - Delete Section 3; (2)
Central officio buildings of corporations firm or individuals
engaged with furnishing of telephone services to the public or
any equipment''~,in connection with such buildings or a part of
said telephony system, necessary in the furnishing of telephone
services to the public. No public business office and no repair
or storage facilities shall be maintained.
3. Zoning Ordinance 461204 - Delete Section 26; Item 2
Front yard. A porch may extend, not to exceed ten (10') feet
into the front yard. Cornices or eaves of the main building
may project not more than two (2') feet into the front yard.
Forms and Procedure was reviewed by the Commission with revisions being made.
A final draft of changes will be submitted in next regular meeting.
With no further business to come before the Commission upon motion duly, made
seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned at 11:15 P.M..
