REGULAR MEETING
ZONING AND PLANNING COI~IINISSION
MARCH 10, 1983

The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of West llniversity Place convened
in regular session, Thursday, March 10, 1983 in the Conference Room at the City
Hall, 3800 University Blvd, at 7:30 p.m., with the following members present.
Chairman, M"r. Michael E. Casey, presiding; with Mr. Norton, Abell and Bettler
in attendance.
Chairman Casey introduced himself and gave his address in the City, followed
by other members, ascertained from the secretary that Notice of Meeting had been
posted in City Hall on March 3, 1983.
The Commission members began a general discussion of the second draft of the
rezoning of Wroxton, between Wakeforest and Kirby. Each member reviewed the second
draft and noted certain ~hanges that needed to be made before the final recommenda-
tions could be made to the City Commission of the City of ti9est University Place
Texas.
After much consideration, Mr. Casey entertained a motion that Mr. Norton would
prepare the final draft and confirm that it meets with the Zoning and Planning~f
~ specifications and to prepare a cover letter to be submitted to the City Commission
for consideration and showing recommendations from the Zoning and Planning
Commission for the rezoning of Wroxton.
Mr. Abell moved the motion, seconded by Mr. Norton.

bir. Casey stated that each of the men on the Board were to be congratulated on~the
effort and time put into the rezoning of Wroxton.
The riext stem on the agenda was the review of the Virginia Street Right-of-iVay,
application #83-1, filed March 7, 1982.

N.r.FBrreyros and Mr. Hirschfield approached the Board with drawings, and elevations
of a proposed six (6) single family custom houses on the proposed Virginia Street
~ right-of-way. 'Much discussion between the two men and the Board member's followed.
The Board members further discussed if a Public Hearing should Ue held concerning
the Virginia Street Right-of-Way.
Mr. Casey read from City Ordinance #1206 pertaining to the above.
Mr. Casey..entertained a motion that a Public Hearing be called in order for the
Zoning and Planning Commission to comply with Ordinance No. 1206 as pertains
to the Virginia Street Right-of-Way. That the Zoning and Planning Commission handle
such applications as they would in a replatting situation. That at the Public
Hearing a survey as the property is at present should be brought before the Board,
and a survey to show how the property i.s_.to be replatted, showing-what is to be
dedicated to the City and what the new lots will be like. New boundary lines for
these lots should be submitted to the Board also. A letter from the Director of
Public Works, with his approval, particular to :the availability of water and sewer
to be introduced as evidence. A letter from the Director of Aublic Safety, as it
~ pertains to fire protection needs to be submitted at the Public Hearing, plus any
other information/data that the Zoning and Planning Commission feels is pertinent
in helping to render a recommendation to the City Commission. All of the above to
be initiated by the proper application for the construction of Virginia Street,
application #83-1,

Minutes of the regular meeting of the Zoning and Planning Commission on March
3, 1983 were approved as submitted.
With no further business to come before the Commission, upon motion duly made,
seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
