EMERGENCY MEETING
ZONING & PLANNING COMMISSION
AUGUST 23, 1983

The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of West cniversitv Place
convened in emergency session.on Tue-sday, AUGUST 23, 1983 at,7:30 p.m,
with the following members present: Cha•irman Kendrick, presiding; Members
Bettler, Norton, and 0'Leary.
Notice of Meeting was posted in the City Hall on August 22, 1983, in
accordance with the State Statutes.
Due to the Subdivision Ordinance still being held in abeyance, the Commission
, should in the absence of an ordinance, act on subdivision applications under
the prevailing State Statute ~~974A.
It was agreed to submit a~letter to the City Council informing them of the
Commissicn's decision to accept applications for subdivision..
The Commission reviewed and discussed the proposed Zoning Ordinance with the
following suggested changes for consideration by the City Council:
1. Zoning Ordinance 111 - Delete Section 24; sub-paragraph 2.
However, if twenty-five (25%) of a block frontage
is improved with building the front yard shall
extend to the alignment of such existing buildings,
but in no case shall the depth of such front yard
be less than twenty (20`) feet.
2. Zoning Ordinance 111 - Delete Section 3; Item 2.
Central office buildings of corporations firms
or individuals engaged with furnishing of
telephone services to the public or any equipment
in connection with such buildings or a part of
said telephone sy.stem~: necessary in the furnish-
ing of telephone services to the public. No
public business office and no repair or storage
facilities shall be maintained.
3. Zoning Ordinance 1204 - Delete Section 26; Item 2
Front yard. A porch may extend, not to exceed
ten (10') feet into the front yard. Cornices
or eaves of the main building may project not ~
more than two (2') feet into the front yard.
Forms'. and Erocedure was ".reViewed- by~ the--Commission with revisions being made.
A final.draft of changes will be submitted in next regular meeting.
With no further business to come before the Commission upon motion duly,
made, seconded and car.ried, the meeting adjourned at 11:15 p.m.
