The Zc>ning and Planning Gommission of the City of West University Place
~:nnt~~ned in speci3l session, Monday, November 28, 1983 at 6:00 F.M., wi.th
rhe following cnFmhers present: Chairman I:endrick; Presiding members Bettler,
I~i~rton and 0'Leary.
~ The f.irst part of the special roeeting was devoted to the e~:ecutive session
joint.l~T wi th the Ma~~or and members of the Cit~~ Caunri l, and tne Ci ty
Attorney, Mr. Allums, concerning specific legal matt~rs.
Prior to the executive session, the Agenda Item for Hearing ot P,es~dence
i.n the audience was called by the joint session, the Mayor, Cit~~ Counci.l
and Zoning and Planning Commission. T'here was no response from the small
audience and the meeting continued in executive session.
After the execut.ive session was completed at 7:15 P.M., the Ma}~or and City
Cc~uncil and City Attorney adjourned the scheduled Citv Council Workshop
. Tfeeting, and the Zoning and Planning Commission held the scheduled special
meeting with the C~~mmissions' members that were present.
Mr. 0'Lear}~ excused himself from the meeting prior to the start.
It was discussed that a transmittal letter was needed for the Zoning Ordinance
Reco~nendations~currently pending. Mr. Norton, the Secretary will draft a
]etter and submit at the next~meeting.
It was decided that in the future, the Commission Secretary would create the
drafts of the minutes.and provide them to Theresa in the Inspection Department
as an aid to shoul.der our part of the growing burden of paper work in the
Building Inspector's Office.
~ Member Ms. Tish Taite arrived at the meeting.
It was reported that ]ittle progress had been made on the Planning Study
research. Recognizing that the Holidays were upon us, the Chairman emphasized
that we must plan to achieve progress on this effort for January 1984.
{n'ith no further business to come-before the Commission, upon motion dul~ made,
seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned at 9:30 P.M.
