HomeMy WebLinkAbout06091988 ZPC Minutes• ~ • REGULAR MEETING ZONING AND PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE DATE: JUNE 9, 1988 7:30 P.M. • The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of West University Place, Texas convened in regular-session in the City Counsel Chambers, City Hall, 3800 University Boulevard, City of West University Place, Texas, the second Thursday of June, being June 9, 1988. Members present wer.ez Reid C. Wilson George Ruhlen Frank Billings Susan Rachlin Ralph Stivison Bonnie T. Holmes Chairman and Secretary Vice Chairman Parliamentarian Others in attendance were: Wayne Perry Chief Building Official Notice of ineeting was posted in the City Hall of West University Place, Texas at least seventy-two (72) hours preceding the day of the meeting as required by law. A quorum was declared and the meeting convened. 1. Hearing of Residents: Mrs. Louise C. Moorhead spoke regarding the prior nonconforming provisions of the new Zoning Ordinance which have the effect of requiring a homeowner to maintain or replace an existing deteriorated garage structure. Mrs. Moorhead was concerned about a number of deteriorated garage structures in the City owned by elderly residents without the means to repair or replace them. Ms. Moorhead also inquired regarding whether the City could require removal of a deteriorated garage structure by condemnation and then require re- construction, since removal of the deteriorated garage caused an increase in nonconformity. Subdivision Issues: Subdivision requests; Docket No. 88-2 - Replatting of Lots Nos. 1, 2 and 3, Block 1., Preston Place and a portion of Lot 30, Block 7, Monticello, 5812 Charlotte and 5808 Charlotte - request for relocation of lot line. Presentation was made by John Lisenby, agent.for both owners, who explained that the two properties involved were informally subdivided many years ago. Now the two owners wish to relocate the line between the two properties, which is currently irregular and to formally and properly replat them into two separate lots. After discussion and upon motion by Vice Chairman Ruhlen, seconded by Parliamentarian Billings, the replatting was unanimously approved. The request for pocket No. 88-2 was for an amending plat pursuant to Local Government Code Section 212.016(A)(9), and thus no notice was required.
