AN ORDER OF THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS
WHEREAS, on March 13, 2020, the Governor of the State of Texas issued a proclamation
certifying that COVID-19 posed an imminent threat of disaster in the State and declaring
a state of disaster for all counties in Texas; and
WHEREAS, on March 17, 2020, Mayor Bob Higley issued a mayoral declaration of a local
state of disaster for West University Place due to COVID-19; and
WHEREAS, the Federal COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) Declaration ended
on May 11, 2023, and the deadline passed on June 15, 2023 for Governor Gregg Abbott
to renew the COVID-19 Declaration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED BY THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF WEST
UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS:
1. That a local state of disaster issued on March 17, 2020, and all subsequent
Orders or Proclamations associated with the COVID-19 Declaration, is hereby
rescinded for the City of West University
2. That this Order shall take effect immediately from and after its issuance.
