Hall on Thursday, June l9, 1975, 7:30 p.m., with the following members present: Chair- man Mike Casey,._presiding; members Ayres, Billings, Johnson and Wilkins ._ Alter- nate member Burge was also present. Alternate member Doughty was absent. Chairman Casey presented .minutes of_the regular meeting. of the Zoning Board of Adjustment on April 17, 1975, for consideration. ~ .Motion by Mr. Wilkins, seconded by Mr. Johnson, that minutes of the regular d'' meeting of the Zoning Board of Adjustment on April 17, 1975, be approved as submitted. Ayres Voting No: None 00 Bilpings Casey Johnson Wilkins Chairman Casey announced that the Board. would hold the Public Hearing called for this date and hour, hearing the case Docketed No. 75-5. Motion. by Mr. Johnson, seconded_by Mr. Wilkins,. that the public hearing was now open to consider an application filed by Mr. Bob Arceneaux for permission to construct a two-story foyer at his residence located at 3804 Milton Street. Voting Aye: ..Ayres Voting No: None Billings Casey. Johnson Wilkins Mr. Casey introduced himself and identified his residence in the city, followed by each member of the. Board. Mr. Casey then ascertained from the secretary that Notice of Public Hearing was published in the Southwestern Argus on Wednesday, June 4, 1975, and notice was mailed to all property owners within a 200' radius of the property in question on June 2, 1975, thereby fulfilling all legal requirements for the Public Hearing. Mr. Casey administered .the Oath to Mr. ..and Mrs. Arceneaux and Assistant Build- ing Inspector Wayne Perry Mr. Arceneaux advised the Board that it was his desire to add a second floor to his residence at 3804 Milton Street and in order to get the stair case in the desired location it would be necessary to go 22' beyond the required 20' front setback line. Mr. Perry advised the Board that Mr. Arceneaux had .been denied a building permit inasmuch as plans for the proposed construction were in violation of the re- quired front building setback line. In response. to questions by members of the Board Mr. Arceneaux advised there were. only three residences in the block; one of which is owned and_used by the West University Baptist Church. It was also pointed .out that much of the block is occupied by a church parking lot and the city's .Street Depart- ment, which was believed to have been constructed in the front building set- back_line. Motion by Mr. Johnson, seconded by Mr. Ayres, that the Public Hearing. be closed. Voting Aye: .Ayres Voting No: None Billings Casey Johnson Wilkins. Motion by Mr. Billings, seconded by Mr. Johnson, that: the meeting recess for a few minutes in order to provide time for Mr. Arceneaux to furnish the Board a copy of plans for the addition to his home. Voting No: None Billings Casey Johnson Wilkins Members of the Board studied the plans submitted by Mr. Arceneaux. Motion by Mr. Billings, seconded by Mr. Johnson, that the application Docketed No. 75-5, filed by Mr. Bob Arceneaux, 3804 Milton Street, be approved as ap- plied for..
