Alternate member Scott was also present. The application d_ocketed_ 67-~, filed. on September 6, 1967 by Mrs. Rufus E. Foster, 3312 Cason Street, 4~*as ;submitted to the ,.Board. for `.,~ consideration at this time. The Board. was advised. that necessary legal ~ notice of public hearing had. been giTren by publication in the regular section of the Houston Chraricle on September 9, 1967 and by mail to ''~ all property owners within 20Q feet of the property on September 9, 1967. 00 ~ There being no property oUrners present to be heard, Chairman Liver- more asked Mr. Foster to come forward and, present his information in connection with .his application. Mr. Foster presented.. a scale drawing showing the attached. twowcar garage, new entry way and. brick wall that he .proposes to construct. He stated. that inasmuch as the original builder used. a 32' setback there was not sufficient rear yard. area for the construction of a garage and. due to the size of automobiles an add- itional tUro feet wa;.s needed. for the construction of a new garage on the front of the property. The brick wall is to be constructed to provide privacy for a patio area. Per. Foster further stated that there are no other houses in this block facing on Cason Street arid. that surrounding neighbors had no objection to the constructian. There being no further questions by Board members, Chairman Livermore advised Mr. Foster that the Board would. go into .executive session, and. that he would. be advised of their decision. T~Ir. a.nd Mrs. Foster left the meeting at this time. Motion by Mr. Murff, seconded. by Mr.. Scott, that the public hearing be closed.. Chairman Livermore read. a. letter received by the Board. from J. D. Allston Building Inspector, advising that he had turned. do*ran the .application for a building permit inasmuch as the proposed construction would extend. two feet into the front bu.ild.ing setback requirements. After some discussion the fo~.lowing action was taken; Motion by Mr. Murff, seconded by Mr. Wheeler, that the Board grant the request for an exception to the Zoning Ordinance to allow the construction .of a new garage and. brick wall extending two feet into the front setback as requested. in Application Docketed ,~67-4 dated September 7, 1967. Voting Aye: All Voting No: None There being no further business to come before the Board. at this time, upon motion duly made, seconded and. carried, the meeting was adjourned..
