REGULAR (ORGANIZATIONAL) MEETING
ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
April 27, 1983
The Zoning Board of Adjustment of the City of West University Place convened in
organizational session on Wednesday, April 27, 1983, 6:30 P.M., with the follow-
ing members present: Acting Chairman Frank Billings, presiding; Members
Feazel, Fougerat, Fromen and McKelvey.
The following action was taken in the election of new officers for the new Board:
Motion by Mrs. Fougerat, seconded by Mr. Fromen, that Mr. Billings be nominated
as chairperson. There being no other nomination Mr. Billings was elected by ac-
clamation.
Motion by Mr. Fromen, seconded by Mrs. Feazel, that Mrs. Fougerat be nominated as
Vice-Chairperson. There being no other nomination Mrs. Fougerat was elected by ac-
clamation.
Members reviewed Rules of Procedure for the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
Motion by Mr. Fromen, seconded by Mrs. Feazel, that the following changes be adopt-
ed in the Rules of Procedure:
1. In all instances where "Chairman" and Vice-Chairman" is used it be changed to
"Chairperson" and "Vice-Chairperson" in accordance with the City Charter.
2. Article III. Section 2: CURRENT: All cases docketed more than twenty-five (25)
days next preceding a regular meeting day, and in which the fifteen (15) day notice
requirement has. been complied with, shall be set for hearing no later than the
suceeding regular meeting .day. Cases docketed within twenty-five (25) or less days
of the regular meeting day shall be set for hearing no later than the second re-
gular meeting day after docketing of the application.
CHANGE: All cases docketed more than sixteen (16) days next preceding a regular
meeting day, and in which the notice requirement of the State of Texas can be com-
plied with shall be set for hearing no later than the succeeding regular meeting
day. Cases docketed within fifteen (15) or less days of the regular meeting day,
shall be set for hearing no later than the second regular day, after docketing of
the application.
3. Article VI. Section 3: CURRENT: If a rehearing is granted, the case shall
be put on the calendar for a reharing and new notices issued in accordance with the
notice provision of these rules.
CHANGE: If a rehearing is granted, the case shall be put on the calendar for a
rehearing and new notices sent to property owners in accordance with provisions
of these rules and notice of meeting posted in the City Hall.

4. Article VIII. Section 1: CURRENT: The Board shall elect. a Chairman and
Vice-Chairman annually..
CHANGE: The Board shall elect a Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson at the
first meeting of the Board and upon resignation of the Chairperson or Vice-
Chairperson.

With no further business to come before the Board, upon motion duly made,
seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned at 7:30 P.M.
