MEMBERS PRESENT: Steven Segal (voting), Mark Plagens (vodng), John Rentz (voting), Michael Neal (voting), Jeann Howse (voting), and dames Jordan. II. Comfort Cheng, 2616 Nottingham; Stephen Visintine, 2615 Nottingham; Melissa Kulkarni, 2621 Nottingham all spoke about their concern of overflow parking on the residential streets, but not against the granting of the variance. Sergeant Peterson, City of West Universiry Police Officer since 1985 did not speak in favor or opposition of the variance, but only to validate Mr. Deering's comments that ample parking is available, even at the busiest times. In addition, Sergeant Peterson stated that he confirms that there is available overflow parking at the bank. He also observes that Mr. Deering is onsite and available to the citizens. There was no correspondence presented in favor or opposition of the granting of the variance. Neslihan Tesno presented the staff recommendation for pocket 01-10. Dennis Mack, Building Official stated that he has done a survey of the parking requirements of other cities and the requirements in West University Place are quite a bit higher. Dennis Mack plans to take parking requirements to the Zoning and Planning Commission in the near future to look at. Mr. Deering added that he will force tenants and restaurant employees to park furthest away to keep closest parking spaces available. He currently and will continue to police parking of tenants and employees.
