MINUTES JANUARY 8,1998 1 MEMBERS PRESENT: Craig S. DuCote, Les Alban, Bryant Slimp, John McIntyre, James T. Collier, James W. McDaniel, James D. Todd MEMBERS ABSENT: Craig Hughes, Roy Harper GUEST PRESENT: Terry Stevenson, Cindy Neal IL STAFF PRESENT: Dennis Holm, Iris Conway III. CALL TO ORDER: 6:40 p.m. Craig S. Determination the Proper Notices were mailed to all Notifications of the properties within 200 feet. Public Hearing Was Made Notices were posted at all three locations at the Municipal Building, as required. None Required. • ,7 Open Discussion Docket No. 97-06, 3611 University, Request for the Allowance of Children Above Ground Floor Level Les Albin encouraged commitment and support for new Residential Construction Specifications as follows: - General upgrading of residential construction. - Structural wood framing materials shall be #2 grade or better. -All drywall shall be secured to the framing with screws with spacing no more than 12"OC -Exterior paint shall be 100% acrylic latex. -All stucco trim shall be solid Bryant Slimp made the motion to accept implement of goals, taken in sections and consider the construction specifications, Les Albin submitted, and bring in forth by January 1999, Les Albin seconded the motion, James W. McDaniel made a motion to deny the request for a variance, James T. Collier seconded, and the motion to deny the request for a variance was unanimously approved. • Terry Stevenson, Chief of Fire Department, spoke and stated 1994 Standard Building Code 1021.1 Special Exit Requirement clearly states rooms used for first grade children and younger shall be located on the floor of exit discharge. Rooms used for second grade children shall not be located more than one story above the floor of eat discharge. • Announcement New Standard Building Code None Required. need to be ordered and distributed to all BSC members. Adjournment James W. McDaniel made a motion to adjourn, DuCote seconded, and voting was unanimous. Meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
