MEMBERS PRESENT: Les Albin, Bill Blum, Roy Harper, Craig Hughes, James McDaniel, Bryant Slimp, Steven Stelzer, and Bill May, Ciry Council Liaison II. MEMBERS ABSENT: Ahmad Jan Durrani and James T. Collier m. STAFF PRESENT: Dennis Mack, Leslie Montesano and Sherman Yehl N. CALL TO ORDER: 6:00 p.m. by James W. McDaniel, Chairperson Agenda Item Discussion Action 1. Hearing of the Public None None 2. Approval of Prior Minutes None Roy Harper moved to approve the minutes from the November 4, 1999 meeting. Les Albin seconded. All voted a e. Motion assed. 3. Matters relating to Rules of James McDaniel presented the Rules of Procedures as Steven Stelzer moved to accept the Rules of Procedures Procedures revised per the recommendation of the City Attorney. as submitted. Bryant Slimp seconded. All voted aye. Motion passed. 5. Commission Member comments Steven Stelzer gave a brief overview of the document titled None "hnproving Durability in Housing" which was distributed to all Commission members. 6. Staff comments Dennis Mack proposed a plan to eliminate "Contractor None registration" and provide Contractors with a City License. In order to obtain the license, contractors would be required to attend mandatory training sponsored by the Building Division Staff. An outline of the program will be prepared for review by the Commission. • Bill May commented that the plan to require contractors to obtain a City License and attend mandatory training may help improve the quality of their work and the appearance/operation of their job sites. Mayor Lewis joined the meeting to announce that on the third Monday in January, a joint meeting will be held with members of all the Boards and Commissions. The Chair of each group will be asked to give a brief presentation on the issues they're currently working on. Adjournment (7:05 p.m.) None Bryant Slimp moved to adjourn. Craig Hughes seconded.
