Notice of Building & Standards Commission Meeting
Notice is hereby given that the Building & Standards Commission (BSC) and members
of the City Council of the City of West University Place, Texas will hold a meeting on:
January 8, 2004
beginning at 6:00 P.M.
in the Public Works Building Lunch Room,
located at 3825 Milton Street, West University Place, Texas 77005.
The subjects of the meeting are As follows:
[Call to Order.]
1. Notices, Rules, Etc. Matters relating to notices, rules, meeting procedures and identifying
parties.
2. Meeting Minutes. Matters relating to meeting minutes from the December 4th, 2003 BSC
meeting.
3. Matters Relating to the Building Standard Commission Recommendations and Status
~ Report. Matters related to the BSC recommendations A) Summary of changes and report
from staff on progress towards implementation. B) Status on the complaint to the State Board
of Professional Engineers regarding Mrs. Rose Kym.
4. Foundations. Matters relating to foundations, soil testing, piers, etc.
5. Old Stock Houses. Matters relating to the discussion of old stock houses. A) Discussion of
ideas and concepts on how to make modifications to older houses. B) Discussion of
definitions of old stock houses and remodeling. C) Discussion of issues on remodeling that
the Chief Building Official sees. .
6. Update on flood Study by Denny Powers. Matters related to the updated flood study by
Denny Powers.
7. Studs and Materials. Matters related to wood stud spacing, and rot resistant materials.
8. First Floor Elevations verses Survey Benchmarks. Matters relating to the discussion of a
minimum first floor elevation verses survey benchmarks.
