HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 1779 - quiet hours Ordinance No. 1779 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO RESIDENTIAL QUIET HOURS AND NOISE REGULATIONS; AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS; AND CONTAINING FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE: Section 1.. The definition of "residential quiet hoursJ' in Section 1.003 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of West University Place~ Texas is hereby amended as follows: "Residential qu iet hours" 111eans those hours when J11any people are sleeping or engaged in quiet acti v ities at h Ollle. They are here by des i gnated as fo] 10\:\/5: Any weekday (Monday through Friday~ except the holidays l11entioned belovv): Before 7:00 Af\~ or after 8:00 PIvI Any Saturday (except the holidays ll1entioned below): Before 8:00 AM or after 8:00 PM Any Sunday~ New Year's Day, Thanksgiving .Day, ChristnlRS Day~ and vvhenever Ne\v Year's Day or Christn1as .Day fal Is on a Saturday or Sunday the corresponding Friday or Nlonday 011 \vhich the City observes that holiday. Before 12:00 noon or after 8:00 PTvI Section 2.. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are repealed to the extent of the conflict only. Section 3~ If any wordt phraset clause) sentence, paragraphJ section or other part of this Ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance, shall ever be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdictjon1 neither the remainder of this Ordinance, nor the application of such word) phrase, clause} sentence, paragraph, section or other part of this Ordinance to any other persons or circumstances, shall be affected thereby. Section 4. The City Council officially finds1 determines and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of each meeting at which this Ordinance was discussed, considered or acted upon was given in the tllanner required by the Texas Open Meetings Act, as amended, and that each such meeting has been open to the public as required by law at all times during such discussionl consideration and action. The City Council ratifiest approves and confirms such notrces and the contents and posting thereof. Section 5.
