ORDINANCE NUMBER 1736
AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE ELECTIONS TO BE HELD ON THE THIRD (3rd)
DAY OF MAY, 2003; APPOINTING ELECTION OFFICIALS AND PROVIDING FOR A
CONTRACT WITH HARRIS COUNTY; CONTAINING FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS
RELATING TO SAID ELECTION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST
UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. For tIle elections to be .held ill tIle City of West Ulliversity Place, Texas
("City") 011 May 3, 2003:
(a) the City COUI1Cil hereby appoints Victor Hansen to be Presiding Judge for tIle
Central Counting StatiO!l; Kayl)'lln Holloway is appoillted as Manager of tIle Central
Cou.nting Station and Kaylynn Holloway as Tabulation Supervisor (alld tlle notice of
election can be modified to show these appointments); and
(b) the City Council autllorizes and approves a contract witll Harris County for voting
eqllipmel1t, Sllpplies 811d support.
SECTION 2. The public importance of this IneaSllre atld tIle requirelnellts of tIle law
create all emergency and. atl urgent pu.blic necessity requiring tllat tllis Ordil1ance be passed and
take effect as an emergency Ineasure, al1d a state of emergency is 11ereby declared a11d tllis
Ordinance is accordingly passed as an emergency measure and shall ta1<e effect and be in force
ilumediately from and after its passage.
