HomeMy WebLinkAbout040506S CC Min CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL SESSION WEDNESDAY, APRIL 5, 2006 MUNICIPAL BUILDING 3800 UNIVERSITY BLVD. 5:30 P.M. The City Council convened in Special Session in the Municipal Building Conference Room (3800 University Boulevard) on April 5, 2006 with the following members present: Mayor Pro Tem Cohen presiding, Council Members Segal, Woods and Yehle. The City Secretary and Parks and Recreation Director were also present. Mayor Ballanfant was absent. The notice for this meeting was posted in accordance with the Texas Government Code, st Chapter 551, on the 31 day of March 2006 at 9:30 a.m. Special Session Rice Pocket Park. Matters related to the Rice Pocket Park and Library Courtyard including a review of the preliminary plans and related issues. Members of the Rice Pocket Park Task Force present at the meeting were: Chairman Stan McCandless, Cheryl Hoyal, Brennan Reilly and Kim Wilson. Members of the Parks and Recreation Board present were Paul Brace, Laura Theis and Randal Lepow. Tim Patterson, Landscape Architect from White Oak Studio, presented the preliminary concept designs of the Rice Pocket Park and the Library Courtyard. Estimated costs are $100,000 to $150,000 for the Library Courtyard and $200,000 to $300,000 for the Rice Pocket Park. The City Council asked numerous questions and made several suggestions relating to the plans. The Task Force members will review the park designs with the suggested amendments and present them to the City Council at a later date. Adjournment. With no further business to come before the City Council at this time, a motion was made by Council Member Yehle, seconded by Council Member Segal, to adjourn.
