HomeMy WebLinkAbout091307S CC Min CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL SESSION THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, 2007 MUNICIPAL BUILDING COUNCIL CHAMBERS 3800 UNIVERSITY BLVD. 6:30 P.M. The City Council convened in Special Session in the Municipal Building (3800 University Blvd.) on September 13, 2007, with the following members present: Mayor Pro Tem Fry presiding, Council Members Cohen and Guffey. The City Manager was also present. Mayor Kelly and Council Member Talianchich were absent. The notice for this meeting was posted in accordance with the Texas Government Code, Chapter th 551, on the 10 day of September 2007 at 6:25 p.m. Special Session Park Property. Matters related to the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property for park purposes. This may include the property located at 3501 Corondo Court. At this point in the meeting, the Mayor Pro Tem publicly announced that a closed, executive session would be held and identified the section of the Open Meetings Law under which the meeting would be held. Closed Executive Session to be held under Section 551.072 (purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property), Texas Government Code. The City Council agreed to allow City Manager Michael Ross and Parks and Recreation Board Chair Russ Schulze to attend the Executive Session because their presence is necessary for the Council?s consideration of the issues. After the announcement, the City Council conducted a closed, executive session beginning at 6:30 p.m. After the closed, executive session, the Mayor Pro Tem announced, in open session, that the City Council had concluded its closed, executive session at 6:50 p.m. Mayor Pro Tem Fry called for a motion. A motion was made by Council Member Cohen, seconded by Council Member Guffey, to authorize the City Manager to submit an option for 30 days or until October 12, 2007, whichever is longer, at $3,000. City Council Special Session, September 13, 2007 A vote was taken on the motion with the following result: Voting Aye: Mayor Pro Tem Fry, Council Members Cohen and Guffey Voting Nay: None Absent: Mayor Kelly and Council Member Talianchich The motion passed 3-0. The City Council also directed the City Manager to give notice to the affected neighbors and the press. Adjournment A motion was made by Council Member Cohen, seconded by Council Member Guffey, to adjourn. A vote was taken on the motion with the following result: Voting Aye: Mayor Pro Tem Fry, Council Members Cohen and Guffey Voting Nay: None Absent: Mayor Kelly and Council Member Talianchich The motion passed 3-0.
