CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL SESSION
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2007
PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING CONFERENCE ROOM

5:00 P.M.
The City Council convened in Special Session in the Public Works Building Conference
Room (3826 Amherst) on September 4, 2007, with the following members present:
Mayor Kelly presiding, Council Members Fry, Guffey, and Talianchich. The City
Manager and City Secretary were also present. Council Member Cohen was absent.
The notice for this meeting was posted in accordance with the Texas Government Code,

Chapter 551, on the 30 day of August 2007 at 4:50 p.m.
Special Session
Interviews/appointments.
Matters related to the appointment, evaluation, reassignment or duties of a public officer
(members and alternates of the Zoning and Planning Commission, Zoning Board of
Adjustment and Building and Standards Commission.
At this point in the meeting, the Mayor publicly announced that a closed, executive
session would be held and identified the section of the Open Meetings Law under which
the meeting would be held.
Closed Executive Session to be held under Section 551.074 (deliberate the appointment,
evaluation, reassignment or duties of a public officer), Texas Government Code.
The City Council agreed to allow City Manager Michael Ross and City Secretary
Kaylynn Holloway to attend the Executive Session because their presence is necessary for
the Council?s consideration of the issues.
After the announcement, the City Council conducted a closed, executive session
beginning at 5:05 p.m.
After the closed, executive session, the Mayor announced, in open session, that the City
Council had concluded its closed, executive session at 5:50 p.m.
Interviews/appointments.
Matter related to interviews and appointments of residents seeking to serve on Boards and
Commissions.
City Council Special Session, September 4, 2007
The City Council interviewed residents who wished to serve on Boards and
Commissions. They also discussed the placement of volunteers on the individual boards.
Adjournment.
A motion was made by Council Member Fry, seconded by Council Member Guffey, to
adjourn the Special Session.
A vote was taken on the motion with the following result:
Voting Aye: Mayor Kelly, Council Members Fry, Guffey and
Talianchich
Voting Nay: None
Absent: Council Member Cohen
The City Council adjourned the Special Session at 8:47 p.m.
