HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 2022-03 Approving the Missions Statements for Senior Services Board and Senior Services DivisionCity of West University Place Harris County, Texas Resolution No. 2022-03 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE APPROVING THE MISSION STATEMENT OF THE CITY'S SENIOR SERVICES BOARD AND SENIOR SERVICES. WHEREAS, the City of West University Place (the "City") established by ordinance a Senior Services Board (the "Board") composed of fifteen positions appointed by City Council; and WHEREAS, the Board is responsible for: studying the needs of senior citizens; assisting with service studies and plan development; and making recommendations to the City Council on senior citizen programs; and WHEREAS, the Board met on February 10, 2022 and voted to approve and recommend to City Council mission statements for the Board and senior services; and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and desires to approve the mission statements of the Board and senior services; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE: Section 1. The facts set forth in the preamble are hereby found to be true and correct. Section 2. The City Council hereby approves the following mission statements for the Senior Services Board and senior services: Mission Statement for the Senior Services Board Advise City Council of issues that are of concern to seniors and make recommendations regarding facilities, services, and programs. Collaborate with and guide West University Senior Services to enhance the quality of life for West University seniors. Mission Statement for Senior Services Enhance the quality of life for West University seniors by offering services and activities that promote lifelong learning, social and community engagement, safety, and wellness.
