HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 1308 - ORD Amending the BUdget Fiscal Year Jan 1, 1987 by ORD 1268 adopted Sept 19, 1986 22 ORDINANCE NUMBER 1308 ;~ I I I L- AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1987 APPROVED BY ORDINANCE 1268 OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS, ADOPTED ON SEPTEMBER 29, 1986, AND CONTAINING FINDINGS AND RELATED PROVISIONS. WHEREAS, by the adoption of Ordinance No. 1268 on September 29, 1986, the City Council of the City of West University Place (IICityll) adopted a budget for said City; and WHEREAS, since the adoption of said budget, unforseen circumstances have created the necessity to amend said budget; and WHEREAS, the City Council has found and determined that the additional expenditures set out in this ordinance are emergency expenditures, each an unusual and unforseen condition that could not have been included in the original budget through the use of reasonably diligent thought and attention; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS: J Section 1. That the budget of the City of West University Place for the 12-month period beginning January 1, 1987, and ending December 31, 1987, as heretofore adopted be, and it is hereby, amended to provide for additional expenditures and revenues, from the General Fund and Water Sewer Fund as shown by the following schedule: Additional Expenditures - General Fund Legislative Professional Services $ 18,500.00 Inspection Part-time Inspector Contract Temporary Help $ 8,000.00 17,500.00 Parks Eastern Star Improvements $ 15,000.00 J Street Emergency Garage Repair $ 75,000.00 23 Ordinance Number 1308 o Bridge Replacement Sunset 11, 800 . 00 Additional Expenses - Water Sewer Fund Water Emergency Interconnect Emergency Repair Water Well #8 Emergency Repair Water Well #9 $ 22,000.00 45,000.00 21,000.00 Original Total General Fund Expenditures Amended Total General Fund Expenditures Original Total Water Sewer Fund Expenditures Amended Total Water Sewer Fund Expenditures Original Total' Budget Expenditures Amended Total Budget Expenditures $5,000,100.00 5,145,900.00 1,886,900.00 1,974,900.00 12,649,250.00 $ 12,883.050.00 [l Section 2. ADDITIONAL INCOME. The City Council hereby determines it advisable to revise and alter the items of the budget to increase the total expenditure and also increase the total anticipated income so that the total means of financing the budget shall equal in amount the aggregate proposed expenditures. Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately from and after its passage and approval as required by law. Section 5. All ordinances and parts ~f ordinances in conflict herewi th are hereby repea,l ed to the extent of the confl i ct on ly. Section 6. If any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, section or other part of this ordinance or the application thereof to any person or circumstance, shall ever be held to be invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, the remainder of this ordinance and the application of such word, phrase, clause, sentence,' paragraph, section or other part of this ordinance to any other persons or circumstances shall not be affected thereby. Section 7. The City Council officially finds, determines and declares that a sufficient written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of each meeting at which this ordinance was discussed, considered or acted upon was given in the manner required by the Open Meetings Law, TEX. REV. CIV. STAT. ANN. art. 6252-17, as amended, and that each such meeting has been open to the public as required by I law at all times during such discussion, consideration and action. The I City Council ratifies, approves and confirms such notices and the ~ contents and posting thereof. Section 8. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption and signature.
