ARLO WELTGE AS MEDICAL DIRECTOR OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE PURSUANT TO ART!CLE 44470 V.T .C.S.; AND PURSUANT TO TEXAS STATE BOARD OF MEDICAL EXAMINERS RULES AND REGULATIONS; PROVIDING FOR A TERM OF OFFICE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that a Medical Director primarily responsible for the supervision of the City's Emergency Medical Services and the medical portion of such function is required under the above stated Statutes and Rules and Regulations of the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners; and WHEREAS, Section 9.42 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of West University Place created the office of Medical Director to be o appointed by the City Council; and WHEREAS, Dr. Arlo Weltge, a knowledgeable and qualified physician in this area, has agreed'to serve in the capacity of Medical Director; and WHEREAS, compliance with the above stated Statutes and Rules and Regulations requires that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS: o Section 1. That Dr. Arlo Weltge is hereby reappointed Medical Director of the City of West University Place pursuant to the requirements of the applicable laws of the State of Texas and the Rules and Regulations of the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. Section 2. That Dr. Weltge1s reappointment shall be for a term of two (2) years from and after June 10, 1987 (the date his prior "Ii I '1.1 Iii III ill TPmllil1l'!!I!IIII1IU nnrmJPTTlTf.""'l1 I ----n:m" ~~ -~ -~r~ i~i8 appointment expires) and until his successor is appointed and shall have qualified. Section 3. There exists a public emergency requiring that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and the 11 u City Council having declared the existence of such emergency and requested such passage, this ordinance shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction, this 22nd day of June , 1987, and shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
