AN ORDINANCE FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT EACH AND ALL
THE PROCEEDINGS HAVE BEEN HAD AND ALL THINGS DONE PREREQUI-
SITE TO THE HOLDING OF A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE
AMENDING OF ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 111 OF THE CITY OF WEST
UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS, sn AS TO PERMIT ST. GEORGE ORTHO-
DOX CHURCH TO USE LOT 2, BLOCK 92, WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE
2ND ADDITION FOR CHURCH PURPOSES; FINDING THAT A PUBLIC
HEARING FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING AN AMENDMENT TO
ORDINANCE NO. 111 HAS BEEN DULY AND LEGALLY HELD; APPROVING
AND ADOPTING THE REPORTED RECOMMENDATION OF THE ZONING AND
PLANNING COMMISSION THAT ORDINANCE NO. 111 BE AMENDED TO
PERMIT SAID LOT TO BE USED FOR CHURCH PURPOSES; FINDING
THAT ORDINANCE NO. 111 OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE
SHOULD BE AMENDED SO AS TO PERMIT SUCH USE; AMENDING ORDI-
NANCE NO. 111 PERMITTING SUCH USE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFEC-
TIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, St. George Orthodox Church has heretofore duly, and properly
requested permission to use Lot 2, Block 92, West University Place '2nd Addl-
tion for the purpose of constructing church buildings thereon and/or to use
such property in connection with the operation of said church; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of West Uni-
~,I versity Place, having considered the said request of St. George Orthodox
ii Church, has, submi tted its recommendat i on that the same shoul d be granted sub-
I ject to a public hearing before the City Commission of said City; and
WHEREAS, proper notice of such hearing was, given by publication in
the Houston Chronicle and that notice was mailed to each of the owners of
property within 200 feet of the aforesaid lot; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to such notice a public hearing was held by the
City Commission at tDe City Hall, 3800 University Boulevard at 7:00 o'clock
P.M., Monday, January 12, 1981; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission is of the opinion that the application
of St. George Orthodox Church should be granted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the City Commission of the City of West University
Place hereby finds and determines that all formalities required by Ordinance
No. 111 of said City relative to the request of St. George Orthodox Church
for an amendment to the said Ordinance to permit the use of Lot 2, Block 92,
West University Place 2nd Addition for church purposes, have been duly com-
plied with and met.

Section 2. That the report and recommendatlon,of the Zoning and
Planning Commission relative to the application of St.George Orthodox Church
be, and it is hereby, approved and adopted.

Section 3. That Section 4 of Ordinance Number 111 of the City of
West University Place, Texas, is hereby amended by a sub-paragraph to read
as fo 11 ows :
IILot 2, Block 92', West University Place 2nd Addition, may hereafter
be used by St. Georg'e Ortho'dox Church fo'r the construct'ion of church
bu i 1 dings thereon and- other uses inc i dent'a 1 to the ope rat i on of sa i d
church, provided however, that such use shall in all other things
comply with the existing ordinances and Building Code of the City of
Wes't University Pl'ace, Texas.1I
PASSED AND APPROVED this 12th day of January, 1981.
