ORDINANCE NO. 1060
AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING AND FIXING THE
MAXIMUM SCHEDULE OF RATES TO BE CHARGED
BY GULF COAST CABLE TELEVISION IN THE
CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, PROVIDING
A PROCEDURE FOR DISCONTINUANCE OF SERVICE,
PROVIDING A PROCEDURE FOR THE CHANGING OF
SUCH RATES AND PROVIDING FOR REPEAL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WEST
UNIVERSITY PLACE:
Section 1. Maxiffium Rates. Thefollowinq rates
and charges are hereby determined and fixed as theinaxirnum
rates and charges to be charged 'for. the furnishing of cable
television service' in the City'ofWest University Place by
Gulf Coast Cable Television (hereinafter referred to as the
"Company"):

A. MONTHLY SERVICE RATE. $7.50 per month for the
first outlet in a h()me or place of business and $2.00 per
month for each additional outl~t ina .homeorplace of bus i-
ness. Thesem()nthly charges are due and payable in advance
on the first day of the month involved, and if any such charges
a re not pa id by the tenth (lOth) day of the month i nvo 1 ved,
the Company may impose an additional charge of twenty-five
cents (25ct) for such late payment~
B. MISCELLANEOUS RATES AND CHARGES.
, 1. InstallationCharqes. $25.00 for the original
install ation of the first outl et ilia home or place of bus i-
ness of a new subscriber, and $5.00 for the original installa-
tion of each additional outlet in a home or place of business.
2. RelocationCharqes. $7.50 for the relocation
o'f an outlet within the confines of the subscriber1s home or
place of business.
3. Transfer of Service. $10.00 for the transfer
of the first outlet and $5.00 for the transfer of each addi-
tional outlet of a subscriber from one address to a new address.
4. Reconnect Charqes. $7.50 for the reconnection of
all service previously maintained by a subscriber at the same
address.

5. Converter Deoosii. $10.00 for each converter
jnstalled. If the converter is returned to the Company in good
working order upon termination of service, said deposit shall be
returned within a reasonable time after termination of service.
If, however, a subscriber fails to return a converter or converters

at the time of termination of service or if the converter or converters are
not returned in good working order, the deposit or deposits may be re..
tained by the Company as partial compensation for the damage or loss
it has thus sustained.

6. Payment fnAdvance. ,~ The Company may require the pay-
ment of such charges or the making of such deposits in advance before
making the installation or performing the oth~r work involved.

Section 2. Lower Rates. The Company may establish lower
rates and charges than those presc~ibed above, including, but not
limited to, special contract rates for large volume commercial or in-
dustrial subscribers. In addition, the Company may also waive all or
a portion of the installation charges to new subscribers during any
promotional period established by the Company.
. Section 3. Discontinuance of'Service. The Company may dis-
continue service to a subscriber upon failure to pay a monthly service
charge within thirty (30) days after it is due and payable; provided,
however, the Company shall give five (5) days' written notice to the
subscriber, delivered ei'ther byinail or in person, that service will be
discontinued unless all arrearages are paid before the expiration of said
five (5) day period.
Section 4.,Chanqe of Rates. The maximum rates and charges
prescribed' above shall remain in fu'l force and effect until changed pur-
suant to lawful action, by ordinance, of the City Commission. Before 0
such', rates shall be chan~ed, the City Commission shall conduct a I:
public hearing affording due process to determine the reasonableness of
any such rate' change.'
Section 5. Repeal. All ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed insofar, but only insofar, as
such conflict exists. '
