ORDINANCE'NUMBER 1054
AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER 993 CHANGING THE
RATES FOR 'Mm~ING VACANT TOTS; PROVIDING' A BEGINNING DATE
OF JANUARY 1, 1976 FOR NEW RATES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFEC-
TIVE DATE. .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE 'CITY COMMISSION OF THE 'CITY OF t~EST UNIVERSITY
PLACE, TEXAS:
Secti on 1. That Ordi nance Number 993 passed -on 'J:an'uary' 9, 1973, is
hereby expressly repealed and the subject matter of said Ordinance is hereafter
controlled and governed by the provisions of this ordinance.
Section 2. ' That the following charges be placecf"i'nto effect for mowing
and cleaning of vacant lots in the City of West University Place:
$ 0.01~ per square foot with a minimum charge of $75.00 on an,
annual basis .
Section 3~ - That there be levied a $5'.00 fee for. the 'filing of a lien
wh,ere the- property, owner refuses to clean the':'property or pay' for same and 'the
city is required to perform this service with its employees and equjpment,and
that there will be an additional $5.00 fee fo'r the release of said lien. That
interest at the rate of 10% per annum shall be charged on all sums due to the
city for the performance of the above enumerated services.
Section 4. Minimum charge for mowing when the city is required to
mow under Section 3 of this Ordinance will be 3/4~ per square foot p~r mowing.
Section 5. ' These ratE;!s to.jJecome effective January 1, 1976.
