ORDINANCE NUMBER 1006
AN ORDINANCE LEVYING AND ASSESSING AN AD VALOREM TAXON ALL
TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF'
W,EST UN.IVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS, FOR THE YEAR 1973; PROVIDING
THE BASIS OF ASSESSMENT OF APPRAISED VALUE AND PROVIDING
FOR THE COLLECTION THEREOF AT THE RATE OF $1.50 ON THE ONE
HUNDRED ($100.00) ASSESSED VALUATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY
PLACE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That there is hereby levied and assessed against all t~xable
property, both real and personal, within the corporate limits of the City of West
University Place, Texas, and there shall be collected by such city, a tax of $1.50
on the one-hundred dollar ($100.00) assessed tax valuation for the year 1973.
Section 2. Such tax is hereby levied and assessed in accordance with
the terms and pr.ovisions of Section 1 of Article XXI of the Gityof West Univer-
sity Place.City Charter and the applicable Statutes 0f the State of Texas, such
levy and assessment is made for the following purposes, to wit:
(A) For the upkeep and maintenance of the Depattment $ .05
of Health and Sanitation
(8) For current expense and oJ3filra ti on of the 'Genera 1 $ 1.45
Fund and its various departments
Total Tax Rate
$ 1.50
Section 3. That the Tax Assessor and Collector for the City of West
University ,Place, Texas is hereby directed to assess and collect taxes on all
of the property, both rea1and'persona1, within the corporate limits of the City
of West University Place, Texasl 'on the basis af 50% of appraised value for the
year 1973, such basis of assessment being required to meet the proposed expendi-
tures of the General and Health Funds Tor the fiscal year 1974 and collection of
taxes thereof at the rate of $1.50 on the $100.00 assessed valuation as herein
provided. ' .
