ORDINANCE NUMffER 1154
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING- SECTION 2~32 OF THE CODE OF ORDI~ANCES
OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR
THE CREATION OF A DEPARTMENT OF PERSONNEL AND PURCHASING;
CREATI NG APPROPR lATE DEPARTMENT HEAD; AND PROV I D-I NG AN EF-
FECTIVE DATE .

WHEREAS, i't 'is the desireo{the City Commission to establish a
department to be known as the Department of Personnel and Purchasing; and
WHEREAS, the addition of another department requires a new organi-
zational plan designating the chain of commande.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF WEST UNIVE~SITY PLACE~ TEXAS:
S~ction 1. That Section 2-32 of the Code of Ordinances of the
City of West University Place, Texas be amended so that hereafter said
. Sect ion 2-32 sha 11 read as fo 11 ows:
IISection2-32. That several single function departments
shall be reorganized into seven (7) multi-function depart-
ments.
That th~se departments shall be identified as the Department
of Public Works, Department of Community Services, Police De-
partment, Fire Department, Department of Housing and Commun-
ity Development, Department of Finance and Operations and De-
partment of Personnel and Purchasing.

That each of the seven (7) departments shall be administered
by a department head and shall be titled Director of Public
Works, Director of Community Services, Chief of Police, Fire
Chief, Director 'of Housing and Community Development, Director
of Finance and Operations, and Director of Personnel and
Purchas i ng .11
Section 2. That there be an organization plan and/or chart desig-
nating the chain of command and the same be attached hereto and made a part
of such addition.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after June 9, 1980.
