ORDINANCE NO. 787

AN ORDTNANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 89 OF THE
CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT
THE EXAMINING AND SUPERVISING ;SOARD OF PLUMBERS SHALL CONSIST
OF FIVE MEMBERS; SETTING FORTH THE INDIVIDUALS QUALIFIED FOR
MEMBERSHIP ON SUCH BOARD; CONTAINING A REPEALING CLAUSE;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WEST
UNIVERSITY PL<\CE, TEXAS:

SECTION 1
That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 89 of the City of West University Place,
Texas, be and it is hereby amended so that hereafter said Section 1
shall read as follows:
ltSection 1. PLUMBING BOARD ,- There is hereby created a Plumbing Board

which shall consist of five members appointed by the City Commission.
The Chairman of the Board shall.be elected by vote of the said Board.
The City Plumbing Inspector shall be a member of such Board. Each of
said five positions shall be numbered. Each of them shall have been resi-
dents of West University Place fur the last two years immediately prece-
ding said appointment . Position Number One shall be filled by the Plumb,
ing Inspector of the City of West University Place; Position Number ~[o
shall be filled by the City Engineer; Position'Number Three shall be ],
Iilled'bya person holding a Master Plumber's license; Position Numbers
Four and Five ,shall be filled by either a Sanitary Engineer, Civil En-
gineer or Mechanical Engineer, each of whom shall be a registered pro,
fessional engineer with regis'cration in the State of Texas The City
Water and Sewer'Superintendent shall meet '\dth such Board and shall serve
the Board in an advisory capacity. The City Plumbing Inspector shall
act as recording secretary for the Board,
The first appointment to the Board created hereby shall be made immediate
ly after the final passage hereof and each person appointed shall hold
office until the next succeeding election of the City Commission or until
their successors have been duly appointed and qualified.
SECTION 2
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in direct conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict only.
SECTION 3
This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its adoption
and publication according to law.
