AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF PERSONS TO
SERVE AS CITY A'lTOIlliEY, CORPORATION JUDGE AND CITY TREASURER,
TAX ASSESSOR AND COLLECTOR OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE,
TEXAS; STATING THE TERM OF OFFICE; PRESCRIBING THE POWERS AND
DUTIES OF SUCH OFFICERS; :E>RESCRIBING THE COMPENSATION OF EACH
APPOINTIVE OFFICER; STATING THE: VALIDITY OF THE ORDINANCE;

BE IT ORDADlED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE Crry OF WEST UN'IVERSITY
PLACE, TEXAS:
Section 1. In compliance with prov~s~ons of the City Charter, the
following are hereby appointed to the respective positions:
Charles F. Cockrell be and is hereby appointed City Attorney of the
City of west University Place, Texas, who shall serve in such capacity until
the next regular city election unless sooner discharged by the City Commission.
Karl E. Kraft be and is hereby appointed Corporation Judge of the City
of West University Place, Texas, who shall serve in such capacity until the
next regular city election unless sooner discharged by the City Commission.
William Di ttert, Jr. be and is hereby appointed City Treasurer, Tax
Assessor and Collector of the City of West University Place, Texas, who
shall serve in such capacity until the next regular city election unless
sooner discharged by the City Commission.

Section 2. That such persons serving as City Attorney, Corporation
Judge and City Treasurer, Tax Assessor and Collector shall perform all of
the duties and have all the powers bestowed on them by the statutes of
the State of Texas and as prescribed by the Charter of the City of West
University Place, Texas, and shall perform all acts incident to such
office as may be prescribed by the City Commission.
Section 3. The oompensation of the appointive officers named herein
shall be at the following annual rates, as provided for in the 1960
Budgetary Ordinance:
City Attorney
Corporation Judge
City Treasurer, Tax
Assessor and Collector
$2,400.00
1,500.00
7,020.00
Section 4. Should any part, section, subsection, paragraph or
sentence contained in this ordinance be held unconstitutional or
otherwise invalid, such holdings will not affect the validity of the
remaining part of the Ordinance.

Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective upon its
passage and approval.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS THE 12TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1960.
