AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY ~SURER TO CHANGE THE CITY
ACCOUNTING AND BUDGETING SYSTEM TO CONFORM WITH STANDARD PRIN-
cIpALs AND PROCEDURES RECOMMENDED BY TEE NATIONAL COMMITTEE ON
GOVERl\lMENTAL ACCOUNTING; ARRANGING FUNDS ADOPrED ,IN TEE CURRENT
BUDGET SO THAT THEY MAY FIT "TEE NEW ACCOUNTING PROCEDURE .

Section 1. The City Treasurer of the City of west University Place is hereby
authorized to change the City's accounting procedUre to conform with standard
accounting procedures as recommended by the National Committee on Governmental
Accounting a~ outlined in their volume entitled "Municipal Accounting and Aud-
iting" and to install a standard classification of municipal revenue and ex-
penditures as outlined in their volume entitled "A Standard Classification of
Municipal Accountingll.
Section 2. The City Treasurer is further authorized to rearrange v.arious sums of
money as allocated to the account numbers both for expenditures and revenue in
the currently adopted budget to conform with account numbers and code system cre-
ated and used in the recommended municipal accounting and auditing procedure;
however, no sums in total are to be increased or decreased from those adopted in
the budget ordinance.
Section 1. The change of said accounting procedure will be highly beneficial and
create more efficiency and accuraoy in the bookkeeping and accounting department
and result in a more concise and complete accounting system.
Section 4. The prOVisions of this ordinance are to become effective immediately
as the moderncaccounting procedure will strengthen administrative control and
conform to a system determined acceptable by progressive municipal administration.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS TaE 16th DAY OF DECEMBER, 1957.
