AN ORDINANCE FINDING AND DETERMINING T1JAT IT IS NECESSARY THAT THE
DEPOSIT FOR APPLIcANTS FOR WATER AND SEWER SERVICE BE INCREASED FROM
THE SUM OF $5.00 TO THE SUM OF $10.00; INCREASING SAID DEPOSIT FROM
$5.00 TO $10.00; PROVIDING FOR REPAYMENT OF SAID DEPOSIT AT THE EX-
- PIRATION OF F .lJ.l'l:~N MONT1IS FROM THE ORIGINAL DATE OF SAID DEPOSIT IF
NO DELINQUENCIES EXIST AGAINST SAID DEPOSIT; PROVIDING A FINAL REFUND
OF SAID DEPOSIT AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Commission of the City of West Univer-
sity Place, Texas that the deposit now required to be paid by applicants for water
and sewer service by the City of West University Place is inadequate to cover
'losses occurring when users of the water and sewer service vacate the premises
leaving a delinquent account in excess of the original deposit; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Commission that such losses to the
City can be curtailed by increasing the amount of the original deposit required
to be paid by all applicants for water and sewer service from the sum of $5.00
to the sum of $10.0$:
NOW, THEREFORE" BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVER-
SITY PLACE, TEXAS:
Section 1. Any person" firm or corporation who shall apply to the City of West
University Place~ Texas for water and 'sewer service shall be required to deposit
with tl;ie water and sewer 'department the sum of $10.00 at the time such appli-
cation is originally made.
Section 2. That said sum so deposited shall remain on deposit with said water .and
sewer department for a period of fifteen consecutive months unless the water user
shall sooner request a termination of water and sewer service. If, upon the ex-
piration of fifteen consecutive months from the date of the original deposit, the
water user shall request that said deposit be returned to such user, said deposit
shall be returned if no delinquencies then exist against the service 'account of
said water user.
Section i. Upon final termination of service to the water user such user shall
be entitled to a return of the deposit hereinabove reqUired provided that no'.
amounts remain due on the service account of said water user and in the event
that any sum is found to be due the City of West University Place from said user
such amount is to be deducted from the original deposit and the water user shall
be entitled to the balance of such deposit" if any.
Section 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, insofar
as they conflict, are hereby repealed.

Section 5. This ordinance shall take 'effect and be in force immediately from 0
and after its passage and approval.
