ORDINANCE NO. 674
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY
PLACE, TEXAS, FOR A TWELVE MONTH PERIOD BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1955
AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 1955; PROVIDING FOR THE APPROPRIATION OF
PUBLIC FUNDS OF THE Crry FOR USE AND EXPENDITURES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY
PLACE, TEXAS:
I.
That the budget of' the City of West University Place f'or a twelve
month period beginning January 1, 1955 and ending December 3i, 1955 an exact
copy of which is marked "Exhibit A It and made a part bereof' f'or all purposes,
is hereby approved and adopted by the City Commission of the City of' West
University Place, Texas, as the budget of' the City for said twelve month
period.
II.
That there is hereby appropriated out of' the public funds and monies
of' the City of' West University Place, Texas, such sum and sums, or any part
thereof', as may be authorized and directed by the City Commission to be paid
by the City for the uses and purposes set f'orth in the said budget.
This ordinance approving and adopting a budget for the twelve month
period hereinabove specif'ied is made in all things in accordance with the
terms and provisions of the Charter of' the City of' West University Place,
Texas.

AN ORDIN~CE AMENDING OBDINANCE NO. 313 REQUIRING THE CON-
STRUCTION ,OF WALKS FOR PUBLIC USE ON RESIDENTIAL LOTS WITHIN
THE CITY qF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS, TO PERMIT AN EX-
CEPTION T~ETO AS TO THE EAST 87 FEET OF LOT 7, BLOCK 13,
WEST UNIVE.RSITY PLACE FmST ADDITION, AND DECLARING AN EF-
FECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, ~y Ordinance No. 313 of the City of West University Place
all residential lots in said City upon which homes are constructed are re-
quired to have walks for the public's use; and
WHEREAS, Lot 7, Block 13, West University Place First Addition,
initially dedicated to face on Vanderbilt Street, has been subdivided by
proper ordinance in to two (2) lots 100 X 113 feet and 87x 100 f'eet, the
latter of which faces on Duke street and comprises the East 87 feet of the
said Lot 7, Block 13; and
WHEREAS, ~he said 87 X 100 f'oot lot created by the subdivision of
Lot 7, Block 13, i~ the sole lot fronting on Duke street in the block which
renders a walk f'or the use of the public unnecessary; and
WHEREAS, The prospective purchaser of' the said 87 X 100 f't. lot has
f'ormally requested the Cit~Commission of the City of West University Place
to waive the requirement hereinabove mentioned as provided by Ordinance No.
313 of said City; and

WHEREAS, The City Commission of the City of West University Place
is of' the opinion that the said request should be granted and that Ordinance
No. 313 be amended ~o so provide.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the City Commission of' the City of West University Place
hereby finds and determines that the request of' the prospective purchaser of
the 87 X 100 f't. lot heretof'ore created by the subdivision of Lot 7, Block 13,
, West University Place First Addition, for permission to erect a residence
thereon without constructing a walk f'or the use of the public, should be and
the same is hereby granted.
Section 2. That Ordinance No. 313 of' the City of West University Place is
hereby amended by the addition of Section 3-A to read as follows:
"Section 3-A. The provisions of' this Ordinance shall not be
applicable to the 87 X 100 ft. lot created by subdivision out
of the East portion of' Lot 7, Block 13, West University Place
First Addition, insof'ar as such provisions require the con-
struction of' walks, for use of the public on said 10t.1I
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take ef'f'ect and be in force immediately from
and after its passage and approval.
