ORDINANCE NO. 548
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $4,500.00 OUT OF
THE SANITARY SEWER CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND AND THE
SUM OF $1,000.00 OUT OF THE WATER-SEWER OPERATING FUND
IN THE CITY TREASURY TO PAY THE CITytS COST OF:
CONSTRUCTION OF A WET WELL AT THE EXISTING SANITARY
SEWER LIFT PLANT AT THE CORNER OF RUTGERS STREET AND
UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD IN ACCORDANCE 'WITH THE PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS PREPARED BY THE CITY ENGINEER AND APPROVED
BY THE CITY COMMISSION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY &

WHEREAS, the City Treasurer has duly and regularly, and in
accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of ~Vest University
Place, Texas, certified to the City Commission that there is in the City
Treasury and to the credit of the Sanitary Sewer Capital Improvement Fund the
sum of $4,500.00 which has not been already appropriated for any other purposes
and which is now available for appropriation by the City Commission; and the
City Treasurer has duly and regularly, and in accordance with the provisions of
the Charter of the City of West University Place, Texas, certified to the City
Commission that there is in the City Treasury and to the credit of the Water-
Sewer Operating Fund the sum of $1,000.00 which has not been already appro-
priated for any other purpose, and which is now available for appropriation by
the City Commission, and which said sums of $4,500.00 and $1,000.00, aggre-
gately, is sufficient to pay the City's costs of construction of a wet well at
the existing Sanitary Sewer Lift Plant at the corner of Rutgers Street and
University Boulevard, in accordance with the plans and specifications prepared
by the City Engineer and approved by the City Commission;
NOW, Th"EP..EFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS:

Section I. That there is hereby appropriated out of the fund
in the City Treasury to the credit of the Sanitary Sewer Capital Improvement
Fund the sum of $4,500.00, and out of the fund in the City Treasury to the
credit of the Water-Sewer Operating Fund the sum of $1,000.00 to pay the City's
cost of: the construction of a wet well at the existing Sanitary Sewer Lift
Plant at the corner of Rutgers Street and University Boulevard, in accordance
with the plans and specifications prepared by the City Engineer and approved by
the City Commission; and the Mayor and City Treasurer are hereby authorized to
draw warrant, or warrants, against such fund hereby appropr~ated, or such portion,
or portions, thereof as may be necessary to pay and discharge the obligations
of the City of West University Place chargeable thereto.
Section 2. The fact that the construction of such wet well is
an integral part of the sanitar,y sewer facilities of the City of West University
Place, and that construction is immediately necessary to protect the public
health, and the need for such construction creates a public emergency, this
Ordinance shall therefore be passed finally on the date of its introduction this
the 26th day of February, A. D. 1951, and shall take effect immediately upon
its, passage and approval by the Mayor.
