0RDINANCE NO. ~47
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 532 AND CHANGING
THE 1951 BUDGET OF THE CITY OF -v'{EST UNIVERSITY PLACE,
TEXAS IN SUCH MANNER AS TO APPROPRIATE AND ALLOCATE
CERTAIN FUNDS FOR THE SALARY OF PHOTOGRAPHIC INVESTI-
GATOR AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, since the adoption of the 1951 budget of the City of
West University Place, Texas as shown by Ordinance No. 532 passed by the
City Commission of the City of West University Place, Texas-on the 22nd day
of August, 1950 and approved on the same date by the Mayor of the city, the
City Commission has determined the necessity of empla,ving for the City a
photographic investigator to assist the Police Force of the city in pre-
serving and presenting evidence in the enforcement of traffic laws and
ordinances in the City of West University Place, and which employment of
such photographer nor the salary incident to such employment were contemplated
by or in the 1951 budget of said City; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Nest University Place,
Texas, after due consideration has determined the necessity for providing for
the employment of such photographic investigator in the 1951 budget 'of said
City; and
IVHEREAS, Section 8 of Article XIV of the City Charter of the
City of West University Place provides that the City Commission may revise,
alter, increase or decrease the items of the budget; and

WHEREAS, it appears to the City Commission of the City of Vfest
University Place, Texas that the anticipated revenues from Corporation Court
Fines vvill be greater than the sum~of $7500.00 and will be at least $8500.00;
NO\t1f, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PlACE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the 1951 Budget of the City of West University
Place, Texas, be amended, and the same is hereby amended to increase the
anticipated and actual revenues from Corporation Cou~t Fines to the sum of
$8500.00.
Section 2. That the 1951 Budget of the City of West University
Place, Texas be amended, and the same is hereby amended, so as to include
therein an item of expenditure to be known as salary of photographic investi-
gator in the amount of $500.00.
Section 3. It appearing to the City Co~"Ilission that the
budgetary amendment hereby made constitutes a public emergency, this Ordinance
shall, therefore, be passed finally on the date of its, introductiop this the
12th day of February, 1951, and shall take effect immediately upon its passage
and approval by the Mayor.
