ORDINANCE NO. 518 , ., AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $720.00 OUT OF THE FUND IN THE CITY TREASURY TO THE CREDIT OF STREET IMPROVE- }ffirnT BONDS SERIES 1948 TO PAY THE CITY'S ADDITIONAL PART OF THE COST OF PAVING 'AND IMPROVING PORTIONS OF: 4100 BLOCK oF BIRON STREET; and 4100 BLOCK OF CASE STREET; and WEST POINT STREET FROM THE SOUTH PROPERTY LINE OF CASE STREET TO THE NORTH PROPERTY LINE OF BYRON STREET; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. '1 LJ VVHEREAS, the City Treasurer has duly and regularly in accord- ance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of West University Place, Texas, certified to the City Commission that there is in the City Tr-easury to the credit of the Street Improvement Bonds Series 1948 the sum of $720.00 which ha~ not been already appropriated for any other pur- pose and which is now available for appropriation by the City Commission; and which sum is sufficient to pay the City's additional portion of the cost of paving and improving ce~tain streets in the City of West University Plaqe, Texas, hereinabove and hereinafter set forth, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS: i] Section 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of the fund to the credit of Street Improvement Bonds Series 1948 in t~e City Treasury the sum of $720.00 to pay the City's additional portion of the cost of paving and improving: 4100 Block of Byron Stre~t; and 4100 Block of Case Street; and West Point Street from the South property line of Case Street to the North property line of Byron Street, and the Mayor and City Treasurer a~e hereby authorized to draw warrant or warrants against said fund here9Y appropriated to the extent of said sum or such portion or portions thereof as may be necessary to pay and discharge the obligations of the Cit,y of West University Place, Texas, chargeable thereto. Section 2. The fact that the improvements on the above portions of the streets hereinbefore defined have been completed and the contractor has tendered to the City the assessment certificates to be purchased by the City pursuant to prior agreement, and that an additional appropriation is required to consummate such purchase creates a public emergency, and I I therefore this Ordinance shall be passed finally on the date of its in- ~ ---.! 43 ! troduction this the 22nd day of May, 1950, and shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
