AN ORDINANCE. AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CHIEF OF POLICE OF
THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS, TO DESIGNATE CERTAIN
TRAFFIC CONTROL LOOATIONS WITH THE CONCURRENCE AND CONSENT OF
THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS;
PROVIDING FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF, TRAFFIC SIGNS
AND SIGNALS PROVIDING FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF FINES FOR THE VIO-
LATION OF THE REGULATIONS PROMULGATED HEREUNDER AND PROVIDING FOR
THE ORDINANCE HEREIN PASSED TO BE CUMULA,TIVE OF THE PROVISIONS OF
ALL OTHER STATE AND CITY TRAFFIC REGULATIONS FOR LAWS NOW IN EFFECT.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of West University Place,
Texas, deems it necessary and expedient to permit the Chief of Police of the
City of West University Place, Texas, to make periodic estimates on and re-
visions to the traffic regulation system of the City of West University Place
with the concurrence of the Cit,r Co~ssion in,such recom~endations, and
WHEREAS, it is deemed most practicable to permit the accomplishment
of the intended result by directing the Chief of Police of the City of West
University Place, Texas, to submit from time to time proposals of the lo-
cation and type of traffic installation"signals or signs to the City Com-
mission for its approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY CmOOSSI ON OF THE CIJY
OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS:
1'ha t from and after the passage of this ordinance it shall be un-
lawful for any person to violate a provision of any traffic regulation which
has been duly filed by the Chief of Police with the City Commission of the
City of West University Place, Texas, and which has been approved by the
said City Conmission, provided, however, that no person shall be prosecuted
for ~he violation of any regulation which has not been then publiq~~ed by
the installation of the appropriate sign, signal, or other device indicating
the action sought to be prohibited.
It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police and the City Secretary
of the City of West Univers~ty Place to secure and install the necessary signs,
signals, and other devices after the approval by the City Commission of the
location and t,rpe of signal or sign. '

Any person violating any regulation promulgated hereunder shall be
fined in any amount not to exceed,$lOO.OO.
It is expressly provided that the provisions of this ordinance shall
be cumulative of all other ordinances and laws affecting and regulating traffic
in the Cit;v of West University Place, Texas:.
