HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 486 - ORD Regulating & Prohibiting Parking of Vechicles on 6700 Block of Weslayan Street 207 ORDINANCE NO. 486 -, AN ORDINANCE REGULATING AND PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF VE- HICLES IN CERTAIN SPECIFIED PORTIONS OF THE 6700 BLOCK OF WESLAYA1~ STREET IN THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS; PROVIDING FOR PARALLEL PARKING OF VEHICLES IN CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE 6700 BLOCK OF WESLAYAN STREET; FIXING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF SUCH REGULATION-;' AND PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF THE ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF, THE CITY OF WEST UNI- VERSITY PLACE, TEXAS: I. That it shall be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle within the following described areas in the City of West University Place, Texas: (a) That portion of the east side of the 6700 Block of Wes- layan Street which lies between the north line of the intersection of Bellaire Boulevard ;md Weslayan Street and a point 172' 6" to the north thereof. (b) That portion of the east side of the 6700 Block of Wes- lay-an Street which lies between the north line of the intersection of Weslayan Street and Ruskin Street and a point 309' to the south thereof. II. That it shall be unlawful for any person to park any vehicle in any manner other than parallel to the street in the following described portion of the west side of the 6700 Block of Weslayan Street: The off-set parking area which begins at a point 228' north of the north5.ntersection of Bellaire Boulevard and Weslayan Street and ex- tends for a distance of 139' in a northerly direction. III. By the term "vehicle" as used herein is meant every device in, upon, or by which any person or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a street. By the term "parking" as used herein is meant the standing of a vehicle whether occupied or not except that it shall not include a tempo- rarystanding for the purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading of passengers. , ,,"....
