AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $1,594.74 OUT OF THE FUND
TOTRE CREDIT OF ~TREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS, SERIES 1948 IN THE
CITY TREASURY 'ID PAY CERTAIN COSTS AND EXPENSES .IN ,CONNECTION WITH
THE PAVING AND IMPROVING OF PORTIONS OF MILTON STREEl', RICE BOULE-
VARD AND COLLEGE STREET, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
. WHEREAS, the, City Commission has heretofore appropriated the sum
of $10,,000 by its Ordinance No. h31, passed and approved November 22, 1948,
for the City's portion of the cost of improving certain portions of Milton
Street and Rice Boulevard in said City; and
WHEREAS, the sum so appropriated has been foUnd insufficient to pay
the City's portion of the cost of such improvements, together with expenses
chargeable thereto and including a portion of College Street constructed as
extra work thereunder; and
WHEREAS, the City Treasurer has duly and regularly certified .that
the sum hereinafter appropriated is available for appropriation out of the
fund hereinafter named; ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF WEST UNIVERSITY PlACE, TEXAS:

Section 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of the fund to
the credit of Street.Improvement 'Bonds, Series 1948 in the Treasury of the
City of West University Place, Texas,- the sum of $1,594.14 to pay the City's
additional portion of the cost of paving and improving portions of Milton
Street and Rice Boulevard and a portion of College St~eet-constructed as
extra work in connection thereWith, together with certain items of expense,
under the November 22, 1948 contract between the City and Brogan' & Williams;
and the Mayor and City Treasurer are hereby authorized to draw warrant or
warrants against said fund hereby appropriated, to the extent of said sum or
such portion or portions thereof as may be necessar,y to pay and discharge
the obligations of the City of West University Place, Texas, chargeable
thereto.
Section 2. The fact that an additional appropriation is necessary
to pay tl;le cost and expense to the City in connection with said construction
creates - a public emergency and therefore this ordinance shall be passed
finally on the date of its introduction, this the 21th day of June, .19h9,
and shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval by the MCfjI'or.
