AN ORDINANCE REGULATING AND PROHIBItING THE DRIVING
OF TRUCKS ON CERTAIN DESIGNATED PORTIONS OF STRms
WITHIN THE CITY OF WEST uNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS: DE-
, FINING TERMS: FIXING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF
SUCH REGULA.TIONS AND PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF THE
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN' CONFLICT HERE-
WITH.
Whereas there has been a considerable increase in truck traffic
within 1-he City of West U~iversity Place, Texas, and
.', Whereas, it is the. desire of the City Conunission of said City
to arrange for the routing of truck traffic within said City in such manner
as to best provide for the safety of. the inhabitants and for the proper
maintenance and preservation of the City Streets. '
Now Therefore, be it ordained by the City Commission' of the City
of West University Place, Texas:

That it shall be unlawful for any person to drive a. truck on any
of the hereinafter listed streets within the City of West University Place~
Texas, between the areas designated below: '
(a) On Academy Street between Ruskin Street ~nd Bissonnet Street.
(b) On Community Drive between Richmond Road and Bissonnet Street.
(c) On Weslayan Street between BellaireBoulevard and Rice
Boulevard.
(d) On Auden Street between University Boulevard and Browning
Street.
(e) On Simmons Street between Richmond Road and Judson Street.

By the term "truck" herein is meant any vehicle which is of
gross weight of over 5 tons, or any vehicle which ~s equipped with dual
wheels.

Any person ?fio violates any provJ.s~on of this ordinance shall
upon conviction be fined in any amount not to ,exceed one hundred dollars.
IV

All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the pro-
visions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
Passed and Approved this 18th day of April, 1949 by a vote of h ayes
and 0 noes.
