AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE'SUM OF $748.79. OUT, OF THE FUND TO
THE CREDIT OF STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS SERIES 1948 IN THE CITY
TREASURY TO PAY T~E CITY'S ADDITIONAL AGREED CCNTRIBUTION TOWARD
THE COST OF STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON ACADEMY STREET BETWEEN THE
NORTH. LINE OF SOUTHWESTERN STREET AND THE SOUTH LINE OF UNIVERSITY
BOULEVARD UNDER DIRECT CONTRACTS BETVVEEN THE RESPECTIVE PROPERTY
OWNERS AND BROGAN & WILLIAl'\5, CONTRACTOR, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, appropriation has heretofore been duly and regularly made
by Ordinance No. 412 of the sum of $5500.00 for the purpose of paying the City's
agreed contributi0nto and for the respective lots abutting, on Academy Street
within the limits stated to be paid and disbursed under certain conditions, as
specified in Ordinance No. 413, .duly and regularly passed October 8, 1948; and
WHEREAS , the paving and improvement of Academy Street within the,
limits'stated has been- completed, and an additional sum is required to pay the
City's agreed contribution, together with certain expenses on the final esti-
mate on"said portion of said street, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED -.BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY
PLACE, TEXAS: .

Section 1. That there is, hereby appropriated out of the fund to the
credit of Street Improvement Bonds Series 1948 in the City Treasury the additio-
nal sum of $748.79 to pay the City's additional aggregate contribution to the
cost of the improvements on Academy Streat from the North line of Southwestern
Street to the South line of University Boulevard,'together with expenses to the
City thereon, as hereinafter mentioned.

Section 2. The Mayor and City Treasurer are hereby authorized to
draw;warrantsagainst said add~tional fund so appropriated as may be necess~ry
to separately pay and discharge the obligations of the City in the amount of its
respective specified contributions to and for said respective abutting properties
entitled to contribution under the terms and conditions of said Ordinance No. 413;
and to pay the expenses of the City in connection therewith approved by the
Mayor and the City Secretary-Engineer.
Section 1. The fact that the improvements on-said Academy Street
within the limits defined and each portion thereof, abutting each respective
lot raferred to in said prior Ordinances Nos. 412 and 413, have been completed
and said additional contribution by the City is due create a'public emergency
and therefore this ordinance shall be pass,ed finally on the 'date of its. intro-
duction this the 10th day of January, 1949, and shall take effect immediately
upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
