AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $2,000.00 OUT OF THE
FUND T:) THE CREDIT OF STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS SERIES 1948
IN THE CITY TREASURY TO PAY THE COST FOR FA VING AND IMPROV-
ING THE INTERSECTION OF VVESLAYAN STREET AND SOUTlfi'ffiSTERN
STREET ONvmICH BIDS ~vERE RECEIVED OCTOBER 8, 1948, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City T"reasurer has duly and regularly, ih accordance
1'dth the provisions of the Charter of the City of West University Place, Texas"
certified to the City Commission that there is in the City Treasury to the credit
of the Street Improvement Bonds Series 1948, the sum of $2,000.00, wl1ich has not
been already appropriated for any other purpose and which is now available for
appropriation by the City Commission, and is sufficient to pay the cost of pav-
ing and improving a certain street intersectiqn in the City of West University
Place, Texas, hereinafter set forth; N~W, THEREFORE: "

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COlvlMISSION OF THE CITY OF 'NEST UNIVERSITY
PLACE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That there is hereby-appropriated out of the fund to the
credit of Street Improvement Bonds Series 1948 in the City Treasury the sum of
$2,000.00 to pay the cost of paving and improving the intiarsection of We slay an
Street and Southwestern Street, on which bids were received October 8, 1948,
in the City ?f West University Place, Texas,
Section 2. That the Mayor and City Treasurer are hereby authorized
to draw warrants against said fund in said sum of $2,000.00, or such portion
or portions thereof as may be necessary to pay and discharge the obligations of
the City of West University Place chargeable thereto.
Section 3. The fact that said intersection is in need of improvement
as promptly as possible creates a public emergency, and, therefore, this Ordi-
nance shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction, this the 25th
day of 'October, 1948, and shall take effect immediately upon its passage and
approval of the Mayor.
