AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $~2~353. 75 OUT- OF THE-
FUND TO THE CREDIT OF STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS SERIES 1948
IN THE CITY TREASURY TO PAY THE COST OF PAVING AND IMPROVING
, STREET INTERSECTI ONS, to-wit: SECTIONS NOS. 1 TO 9 INCLUSIVE,
NOS. 11 TO 13 INCLUSIVE AND NOS. 16 TO 34 INCLUSIVE, ON WHICH
BIDS WERE RECEIVED AUGUST 9, 1948, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Treasurer has duly and regularly, in accordance
with the provisions of the Charter, of the City of West University Place, Texas,
certified to the City Commission that there is in the ~City Treasury to the
credit of the Street Improvement Bonds Series 1948 the sum of $52,353.75,
which;has not been.already appropriated for any other purpose arid which is,
now available for appropriation by the City Commission, and is sufficient to
pay the cost of paving and improving certain street intersections 'in the City
of West University Place" Texas, hereinafter set forth; NOW, THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF 'NEST UNIVERSITY
PLACE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That there is hereby appropriated out,: of the fund to the
credit of ' Street Improvement Bonds Series 1948 in the City Treasury the sum of
$$2,353.75 to pay the cost of paving' and improving street intersections, to-wit:
Sections Nos. 1 to 9 inclusive, Nos. 11 to 13 inclusive, and Nos. 16 to 34 in~
elusive, on which ,bids were received August 9, 1948, in the City of West Univer-
sity Place; and the Mayor and City Treasurer are hereby authorized to draw
warrant, or warrants, against said fund hereby appropriated to the extent of
said sum or such portion or portions thereof as may be necessary to pay and
discharge the obligations of the City of West University Place chargeable there-
to.
Section 2. The fact that said intersections heretofore ordered
improved are in need of improvement as promptly as possible creates a public
emergency, and, therefore, this Ordinance shall be passed finally on the date
of its introduction, this the 25th day of October, 1948, and shall take effect
immediately upon its passage and approval of the Mayor.
PASSED this 25th day of October, 1948.
