AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $12,000.00 OUT OF THE
FUND TO THE CREDIT OF STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS SERIES 1948
IN THE CITY TREASURY TO }.JAY THE CITYlS ESTIMATED ADDITIONAL
PART OF THE COST OF PAVING AND IMPROVING:

SECTION NO.1: UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD FROM THE
WEST LINE OF KIRBY DRIVE TO THE VIlEST LINE OF
BELMONT STREET; AND
SECTION NO.2: UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD FROM THE
WEST LINE OF BELMONT STREET TO THE EAST LINE OF
SEliVANEE STREET; AND
SECTION No.4: THE NORTH HALF OF UNIVERSITY
BOULEVARD FROM THE EAST LINE OF LOT 5 TO THE
WEST LINE OF LOT 4B, ALL IN BLOCK 44, WEST
UNIVERSITY PLACE, SECOND ADDITION,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

~, WHEREAS, the City Treasurer has duly and regularly" in, accordance- ::. :it
with the provisions of the Charter: of the City of West University Place,
Texas, certified to the City Corrnnission that there is in the City Treasury ~~'~l
the credit of the Street Improvement Bonds Series 1948 the sum of $12,000 .~
which has not been already appropriated for any other purpose and which is
now available for appropriation by the City Commission, and is sufficient to Jl
pay the City' s estimated additional part of the cos,t of paving and improving'
certain portions of certain streets in ~he City of West University Place, Texa$,
hereinafter set forth; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY
PLACE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of the fund in the
City Treasury to the credit of Street Improvement Bonds Series 1948 the sum~~r~
$].2,000 to pay the Cityl s estimated additional part of the cost of'paving ,a;ldt~

Section No.1: University Boulevard from the west line-- of
Kirby Drive to the west line of Belmont Street; and
Section No.2: University Boulevard from the West line of
Belmont Street to the East line of Sewanee Street; and
Section No. h: The North half of Vniversity Boulevard from
the East line of Lot 5 to the West line of Lot 4E, all in
Block 44, West University Place, Second Addition,
and the Mayor and City Treasurer are hereby authorized 1;.0 draw warrant or
warrants against said fund hereby appropriated, or ~uCh portion or portions
thereof as may be necessary to pay and discharbe the obligations of the City
of West University Place chargeable thereto.

Section 2. The fact that portions of the streets hereinbefore de-

fined and heretofore ordered. improved-within the limits stated are in need of
i~pr6vements as promptly as possible, and an additional appropriation is required,
creates a public emergency and, therefore, this ordinance shall be passed finally
on the date of its introduction, this, the 27th day of September, 1948, and shal~
take effect immediately upon its passage and approval of the Mayor.
