AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $6,000.00 OUT OF THE FUND
TO THE CREDIT OF STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS, SERIES 1948 TO THE
CITY TREASURY TO PAY THE COST OF PAVING AND IMPROVING CERTAIN
STREET INTERSECTIONS INCLUDED IN THE 34 SEGREGATED INTERSECTION
SECTIONS ON WHICH BIDS vVERE RECEIVED ON AUGUST 9, 1948, AND DE-
CLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, the City Treasurer in accordance with the proVls~ons of
the Charter of the City of West University Place, Texas, has duly and regu-
larly certified to the City Commission that including moneys to be derived
from lawfully authorized bonds which have been heretofore sold and are now
in the process of delivery there is in the treasury of the city to the credit
of STREET IMPROVEMENT BONDS SERIES 1948, the sum of $6,000.00 which has not
been appropriated for any other purpose and which is now available for ap-
propriation, and which sum is sufficient to pay the cost of paving and im-
proving the street intersections hereinafter set forth; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAI~mD BY THE CITY COfuThITSSION OF THE CITY OF ~VEST UNIVERSITY
PLACE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of the fund in
the City treasury to the credit of STREET IMPROVEMEIiIT BONDS SERIES 1948, the
sum of $6,000.00 to pay the cost of paving and improving the following street
intersections:

SECTION NO. 14 - FAIRHAVEN AND MARQUETTE
SECTION NO. 15 - FAIRHAVEN AND SOUTIffvESTERN
being three of the thirty four segregated intersection sections on which bids
were received August 9, 1948; and as to the remainder of which sections further
appropriation will be hereafter made. The Mayor and City Treasurer are here-
by authorized to draw warrant or warrarits against said fund so appropriated,
or such portion or portions thereof as may be necessary to pay and discharge
the obligations of the city of West University Place chargeable thereto.
Section 2. The fact that the above mentioned street intersections
are in need of improvement as promptly as possible creates a public emergency
and, therefore, this ordinance shall be passed finally on th~ date of its in-
troduction, this, the 20th day of September, 1948, and shall-take effect im-
mediately upon the passage and approval of, the Mayor.
