ORDINANCE NO. 402
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING CERTAIN ADDENDA.'
AND AMENDMENTS TO THE SEPTEMBER 20, 1948 CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS AND BROGAN & WILLIAMS, WITH REFERENCE TO
THE PAVING OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF MARQUETTE STREET, VILLANOVA STREET,
SOUTHWESTERN STREET, TENNYSON STREET, AND ACADEMY STREET, AUTHORIZING
AND DIRECTING THE EXECUTION THEREOF BY THE MAYOR AND CITY SECRETARY
AND THE INCORPORATION THEREOF AS A PART OF SAID CONTRACT, AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF WEST
UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the City Commission of the City of West
University Place, Texas, having examined the proposed Addenda and Amend-
ments to the September 20, 1948 contract covering and with reference to
the improvement of certain portions of Marquette Street, Villanova Street,
Southwestern Street, Tennyson Street and Academy Street, and which,Addenda
and Amendment has been heretofore approved by Contractor and the Surety on
its bond, here now provides for, authorizes and directs the execution by
the Mayor and the City Secretary, on behalf of the City, of said Addenda
and Amendments, a copy of vtlich is hereto attached.
Section 2. The fact that those certain portions of the above
named streets covered by the original contract are in need of improvement,
and the further fact that by said Addenda and Amendments it may be possible
to secure a lesser cost to the property owners than would be otherwise
possible, creates, a public emergency and therefore this Ordinance shall be
passed finally on the date of its introduction, and shall take effect
immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
