HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 399 - ORD Releasing the Unused Portion of $35000 by ORD 374 Street Paving and Bridges Nonds 1946 I] [' ,r-, I ~ 239 ORDINANCE NO. 399 AN ORDINANCE RELEASING THE UNUSED PORTION OF THE $35,000 HERETOFORE APPROPRIATED BY ORDINANCE NO. 374 IN CONNECTION WITH THE PAVING AND IM- PROVING OF PORTIONS OF RICE BOULEVARD AND WAKEFOREST STREET FROM SAID APPROPRIATION; TRANSFERRING SAID UNUSED FUNDS TO THE GENERAL CREDIT OF STREET PAVING AND BRIDGE BONDS, 1946, AND DECLARING SAME AVAILABLE FOR OTHER APPROPRIATION, AND ImCLARING AN EMERGENCY. ' WHEREAS, by its Ordinance No. 374, duly and regularly passed and approved May 10, 1~48, the City Commission appropriated the sum of $35,000 out of the fund to the credit of Street Paving and Bridge Bonds, 1946, to pay the City's part of the cost of paving and improving portions of Rice Boulevard and Wakeforest Street; and WHEREAS', the work and improvements under the May 10, 1948, contract, with Russ Mitchell, Inc., with reference to said streets has been completed and final settlement made under said contract, leaving unused out of said sum so appropriated the sum of ; NOW, THEREFORE; , '" BE IT ORDAINED BY' THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF '. WEST 'UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS: ' Section 1. The City Commission does here and now find and determine that of the sum of $35,000 appropriated by Ordinance No. 374 the sum of remains unused and unnecessary after the final completion of the contract on Rice Boulevard and WalCeforest Streets; and that said unused sum should be and is hereby released and discharged from said earlier appropriation. Section 2. That said unused funds should be and same are hereby trans- 'terred to the general credit of the fund to the credit of Street Paving and Bridge Bonds, 1946, in the City Treasury; and is.henceforth available for appropriation tor any other proper purpose. Section 3.
