AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $29,887.00 OUT OF THE FUND TO
THE CREDIT OF STREET PAVING AND BRIOOE BONDS, 1946, IN THE CITY TREAS~

PLACE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHERE:AS, the City ~reasurer has duly and regularly, in accordance with the
provisions of the Charter of the City of West University Place, Texas, certified
to the City Commission that there is in the City Treasury, to the credit of the
street paving and bridge bonds, 1946, the sum of $29,887.00, which has not been
already appropriated by the City COImnission and is sufficient to pay the cost of
the construction of a concrete bridge on University Boulevard over Poor Farm Ditch
in the City of West University Place; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CO:MMISSION OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $29,887.00 to pay
the cost of the cnstruction of a concrete bridge on University Boulevard over
Poor Farm Ditch in the City of West University Place, Texas.
Section 2. That said sum of $29,887.00 is hereby appropriated out of the
fund to the credit of street paving' and bridge bonds, 1946, in said City Treasury,
and the Mayor and City Treasurer are hereby authorized~~to draw warrant or warltants
against said fund in said sum of $29,887.00, or such portion or portions thereof 0,'
as maybe necessary to pay and discharge the obligations of- the City' of West Uni-
versity Place chargeable thereto.
Section 3. The fact that the bridge hereinbefore mentioned, forms a link in
the paving prograi'Tl already commenced and must be completed as soon as possible in
order not to tie up the paving program, creates a public emergency and therefore,
this ordinance shall be passed finally on the date of its' introduction, this 26th
day of May, 1947, and shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval
of the Mayor.
