AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $:&2.5,000.00 OUT OF THE FUND
TO THE CREDIT OF STREET PAVING AND BRIDGE BONDS, 1946, IN THE CITY
TREASURY TO PAY THE CITY'S PART OF THE COST OF PAVING AND IMPROVING:
UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD FROM THE WEST LINE OF KIRBY DRIVE
TO THE. EAST LINE OF COMMUNITY DRIVE; AND
WESLAYAN STREET FROM THE SOUTH LINE OF RILEY STREET
(EAST OF WESLAYAN STREET) TO TEE SOUTH LINE OF RICHMOND
ROAD; AND ..
RICE BOULEVARD FROM THE WEST LINE OF KIRBY DRIVE TO, THE
WEST LINE OF BELMONT STREET; AND
AUDEN STREET FROM THE NORTH LINE OF UNIVERSITY BOULE-
VARD TO THE NORTH LINE OF RICE BOULEVARD,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS the City Treasurer has duly and regularly, in accordance with the
provisions of the Charter of the City of West University Place, Texas, certi-
fied to the City Commission that there is in th~ City Treasury to the cre'dit of
the St~et Paving and Br:i.dge Bonds, 1946, the sum of $12.5,000. 00 which has not I~J
been already appropriated for any other purpose and "Which is now available for
appropriation by the City Commission, and is sufficient to pay the City's part L_ .
'of the cost of paving and improvj.ng certain streets in the City of West Uni-
'~ersity Plan.e, Texas, hereinafter set forth; Now, Therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF. THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $12.5,000.00 to pay
the City's part of the cost of paving and improving: .
University Boulevard from the west line of Kirby Drive to the east line of
Community Drive; and
Weslayan Street from the south line of Riley Street (east of Weslayan Street)
to the south line of Richmond Road; and
Rice Boulevard from the west line of Kirby Drive to the west line of
. Belmont Street; and
Auden Street from the north line of University Boulevard to the north
line of Rice BoUlevard.
Section 2. That said sum of $12.5,000.00 is hereby appropriated out of the
fund to the credit of Street Paving and Bridge Bonds, 1946 in said City Treasury; 10
and the Mayor and City Treasurer are hereby authorized to draw warrant or warrants
against said fund in said sum of $12.5,000.00 or such' portion or portions thereof
as may be necessary to pay and discharge the obligations of the City of West
University Place chargeable thereto.

Section 3. The fact that portions of the street hereinbefore defined and
heretofore ordered improved within the limits stated are in need of improvement
as promptly as possible creates a public emergency and, therefore, this ordin~
ance shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction, this, the 3rd day
of Rpril, 1947, and shall take effect immediately upon its passage and approval
of the Mayor.
