AN ORDINANCE REPE,A.LING, REVOKING, AND CANCELLING ORDINANCE NO.
301 OF THE CITY OF WE$:T UNIVERSITY PLACE, WHICH EXTENDS THE
CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS, BY
ANNEXING TO' THE CITY CERTAIN ADDITIONAL LAND AND TERRITO;RY,
INCLUDING IN SUCH LAND AND TERRITORY THE CITY OF SOUTHSIDE
PLACE, TEXAS: DESCRIBIWG THE LAND AND TERRITORY ViliICH INCLUDES
THEREIN THE CITY OF SOUTHS IDE PLACE, So. ANNEXED; AND PROVIDING
vVHEN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
I/1HEREAS, Ordinance 301, enacted by this City, has been involved in
various suits and controversies with the residents of the City of Southside
Place, and it is the intent and desire of all parties interested to termin-
ate such controversies and litigation.
NOW ,THEREFORE, BE IT OiIIDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That Ordinance 301, being "An Ordinance extending the
city limits of the City of West University Place, Texas, by annexing to the
City certain additional land and territory, including in such land and terri-
tory the City of Southside Place, Texas; describing the land and territory
which includes therein the City of Southside Place, Texas, so annexed; and
providing when this Ordinance shall become effective", enacteldt.the 31st day
of December, 1945, at 6:49 P. M., be and the same is hereby repealed, revoked
and cancelled, and said Ordinance shall henceforth be void and of no force 'and
effect. '
Section 2. The fact that said Ordinance 301 has been involved in con-
troversies and litigation for'an eXtended period and it being necessary to
immediately dispose of such controversies and litigation, creates an emergency,
and this Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and be in '
full force and effect from its passage, and it is so enacted.
Passed, approved and enacted this 2nd day of January, 1947.
